Abuse Of Grace:
In modern times we hear so much about grace, but sadly the concept and truth of Gods Grace in the modern age has been twisted and distorted to justify all manner of depravity, ungodly behaviour and sin. It is no wonder then that this distorted view of grace, and what God's Grace is and means, seems to have legitimised and licensed many Christians into wandering off into areas of wilful habitual sin in unprecedented numbers. Sins like indulging in pornography, which sadly up to around 65% of Christian men confess to having some level of addiction to according to surveys in men's ministry groups. God's grace is not something that licences Christians to continue repeatedly fall into wilful habitual sin; where we have no real intention of stopping, usually because we may enjoy the pleasure of the sin more than any desire to please God. God's grace and forgiveness is something that we receive when we give our lives to Christ. By God's grace we are saved, forgiven, and our sentence of death is pardoned as we are washed clean of the stain of sin by the blood of Christ, whose sacrificed blood covers us in His righteousness. This is when we put on the breastplate of righteousness, the righteousness of Christ, which is imputed to us or freely given to us when we are born again. Paul is very clear about what grace is in Romans. Rom.6:1-2: Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ: 1What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? I would encourage you to read the articles on grace and the abuse of grace in this website; and also read and or listen to the message by Ray Comfort on Hells Best Kept Secret, and I would also encourage every visitor to this website to watch the message The Great White Throne Judgement which is linked to this website. This is probably the most powerful and sobering message I have ever heard. It is sobering, will challemge most of us about the way we live and what we do for God and to reach a lost world for Christ. Simply put, it is compelling watching and should not be missed. It is important that we all understand the difference between grace and abuse of grace is; because continued abuse of grace will take us down a long and destructive road into sin, that many of its travellers may never return from. Sin is a terrible thing:
- It will take you further than you ever thought you would go! - It will cost you more than you thought you would pay! - And will keep you longer than you ever thought you would stay!
