Come Follow Me...

Once upon a time, there was a man who looked upon Christmas as a lot of humbug.

He wasn't a Scrooge. He was a very kind and decent person, generous to his family, upright in all his dealings with other men. But he didn't believe all that stuff about an incarnation which churches proclaim at Christmas. And he was too honest to pretend that he did.

"I am truly sorry to distress you," he told his wife, who was a faithful church-goer, "but I simply cannot understand this claim that God became man. It doesn't make any sense to me."

On Christmas Eve, his wife and children went to church for the midnight service. He declined to accompany them. "I'd feel like a hypocrite," he explained. "I'd much rather stay at home. But I'll wait up for you."

Shortly after his family drove away in the car, snow began to fall. He went to the window and watched the flurries getting heavier and heavier.

"If we must have a Christmas," he reflected, "it's nice to have a white one."

He went back to his chair by the fireside and began to read his newspaper. A few minutes later, he was startled by a thudding sound. It was quickly followed by another, then another. He thought that someone must be throwing snow balls at his living room window.

When he went to the front door to investigate, he found a flock of birds huddled miserably in the snow. They had been caught in the storm, and in a desperate search for shelter had tried to fly through his window.

I can't let those poor creatures lie there and freeze, he thought. But how can I help them?

Then he remembered the barn where the children's pony was stabled. It would provide a warm shelter. He quickly put on his coat and galoshes and tramped through the deepening snow to the barn. He opened the doors wide and turned on the light. But the birds didn't come in.

Food will bring them in, he thought. So he hurried back to the house for bread crumbs, which he sprinkled on the snow to make a trail into the barn. To his dismay, the birds ignored the bread crumbs and continued to flop around helplessly in the snow. He tried shooing them into the barn by walking around and waving his arms. They scattered in every direction - except into the warm, lighted barn.

"They find me a strange and terrifying creature," he said to himself, "and I can't seem to think of any way to let them know they can trust me. If only I could be a bird myself for a few minutes, perhaps I could lead them to safety."

Just at that moment, the church bells began to ring. He stood silently for a while, listening to the bells pealing the glad tidings of Christmas. Then he sank to his knees in the snow.

"Now I understand," he whispered. "Now I see why you had to do it."

Dying Testimonials

Dying Testimonials are a collection of 236 life and death experiences of actual people's experiences when facing eternity.

Experiences of those that love God and have His promise of eternal life, and experiences of those who did not know God and who were indifferent to Him and to the consequences of ignoring or refusing His amazing offer of mercy and grace toward mankind.

When we read these true experiences of people as they entered eternity, we need to consider what eternity really means.

Eternity is forever, and ever, and ever, with no end.  50 billion or 50 trillion years from now, we will be alive in our spirit form at the final place of our eternal destiny, because the human spirit is eternal and cannot die.

Where will you choose to spend your eternity?  This is the single most important question you will ever face, and where you spend eternity will be decided by your choices, by your decisions, by your actions, and will depend entirely on whether you choose to accepts God's incredible offer of love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness of sins.

In the word of God it says this:

Hebrews 9:27.   And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

The time to decide is here, and now while we are alive, and while the Holy Spirit of the Living God is calling your name and calling you to repentance.

If you feel this urging to repentance, it is the Spirit of God gently calling you to come to Him to repentance so that you can experience his incredible love and promise of eternal life.

If you are feeling the urging of the Spirit of God calling you to repentance; “Do Not” ignore His voice, but go to The Way Of The Cross page in this website to discover the way to Christ and eternal life.

If you are feeling the Spirit of God urging and calling you to repentance, the time to come is now, because none of us know what the next minute or the next day of our lives will bring.  Measured against eternity, our lives are so very short, and each of us is only one heartbeat away from eternity at any time in our lives.

We may be tempted to think; Well! I am young now, or, I have many years left to live; and I have no time for God at this point in my life. Therefore I will leave this decision for God for another more convenient day, and will come to God in my time, and on my terms;  Little knowing that today could be our last day on earth, or possibly the last time we hear the voice of God calling us if we insult Him and push him away.

Luke 12:15-20 (New International Version)

15Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

16And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. 17He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.'

18"Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." '

20"But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?'

So, if you are feeling the urging of the Spirit of God calling you to repentance; Please; I urge you; Do not delay; because if we reject Him and push Him away until a more convenient time, it is possible we may never hear His voice calling us again.   The truth is, that we cannot come to God when we feel like it, or at a time of our own convenience.  We can only come to God when He is calling us to repentance; So if you feel convicted of sin, if you feel that your immortal soul is in danger, if you know that you are not in a good place with God and feel you should do something about it; that is the Spirit of God calling you; urging you to come and wash in His cleansing stream, to wash you clean from the stain of sin that would keep separated from our loving Creator God.

After reading these stories and compelling glimpses into eternity through the eyes of people at the end of their earthly lives, I would urge you to go to The Way Of The Cross page; and settle your eternal destiny today, while you can, while God is calling you by name.  Your eternal destiny will depend on your decision in this matter; and possibly the eternal destinies of your family, your children, husband, wife, and your friends and neighbours.  This because when we discover true life in Christ; we can be a powerful positive influence to reach our families, friends, and a world of lost souls for Christ so that they also may discover the life, peace and joy we discover when we decide to walk in the footsteps of our loving God and Saviour.

For the believer and follower of Christ, here below is the promise of God as evidenced in these testimonies of the saved and unsaved.

1 Corinthians 2:9 (New King James Version)

9But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered to the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

What an amazing promise.  It provides hope, peace and removes all fear of death for those that  love Christ.

How hard is it to know this peace and promise of God for yourself?  It is simple, it is easy, and it is the most important thing you will ever do.
